This is the first filmed version of Shakespeare's comedy. Running at just over eleven minutes, the film is one reel long - hence forcing the directors to make some interesting plot choices. While versions of this film may be found elsewhere, the one posted here comes with the film's original score.

John Barton & the RSC:
Balancing the Emotional & Intellectual Demands of the Text
John Barton and the RSC ran nine workshops on Shakespeare and acting, and put these classes to film, in the 1980s. Hence, actor insight is married to scholarly approach and vice versa. Each program runs approximately one hour in length and provides a wealth of knowledge. While all of the RSC videos may be found below, video 6 of 9 (above) is perhaps the best as it covers so much ground.
